The funding supports the purchase of the dog, training, and vehicle fittings.

GRANT GUIDELINES

Our mission is to build a better community through charitable giving.

What We Support

The Prescott Foundation supports programs, projects and organizations that enrich life for residents of the Prescott community. We provide grants for community development, education, recreation, arts and culture, environmental projects, youth programs and community services.

Who Is Eligible?

We welcome grant requests from the greater Prescott area that meet one of these criteria:

  • Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization

  • Government unit or public agency

  • School

  • Other nonprofit organization with fiscal sponsor that meets above criteria

We generally do not award grants for

  • Routine operating expenses

  • Fundraising drives, events, campaigns, social events or goodwill advertising

  • Endowments, debt retirement, or re-granting by another organization

  • Lobbying, political or religious causes or organizations

When are Grant Requests Reviewed?

The Prescott Foundation meets the first Monday of each month. Grant requests are reviewed quarterly, January, April, July, and October. Grant requests should be submitted four weeks prior to a quarterly grant review, longer if possible, giving us an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification prior to a vote by the Board of Directors.

For large and/or complex requests, the vote may be delayed until the Board has enough information for review prior to voting. The requester or a representative of the requesting agency may be asked to present to the Board in support of the grant request.  Please be thorough and detailed when completing a grant request.

It is very important that requesters include both a phone number and email address.

Approved grants could take up to 60 days to receive funding.

How We Evaluate Requests

We evaluate grant requests based on project purpose, reach within the community, budget, the ability of the requesting group to continue the project, the ability of the requesting group to successfully implement and manage the project, and the availability of other funding. Grant recipients are selected by the Prescott Foundation Board of Directors and approved by the St. Croix Valley Foundation Board of Directors.

ABOUT the Prescott Foundation

The Prescott Foundation has been improving the quality of life and advancing philanthropy in the Prescott area since 1989.  Our mission is to build a better community through charitable giving.  We connect donors to the charitable causes that the community care about and we make grants and provide leadership to address community issues.

Each year, thousands of dollars flow from the Prescott Foundation to support the good work of our schools, local organizations, and charitable groups.  The consistent stream of local philanthropy begins in the hearts of our donors, people who have prospered here and who want to give something back to the community.  Whether they make a one-time donation, plan a bequest from a large estate, or make a small memorial donation to honor a loved one, people find a pathway for their good intentions through the Prescott Foundation.

A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Prescott Foundation.  The members have combined expertise in charitable giving, law, financial management, government, general business and community service.  The Board defines the vision, mission, and strategies of the Foundation.  In 2013 we became an affiliate of the St. Croix Valley Foundation, which provides us with expert investment management and additional resources for administration.

Each year, the Prescott Foundation provides grants to organization and groups that respond to specific community challenges and improve the vitality of our community.  We are especially interested in supporting programs that create a positive and lasting impact.
